ReCo brought together organisations and specialists from across Central Europe to coordinate hydrological restoration of rivers, wetlands, and headwater areas ,completed 28 February 2026 after nearly three years of cross-border work.
Our Mission & Vision
ReCo focused on restoring rivers, wetlands, and headwater areas while bringing together organisations and specialists from different countries to coordinate restoration work — with a specific emphasis on the hydrological restoration of wetlands and streams in headwater regions.
Wetland Restoration
Practical restoration work aimed at improving the condition and resilience of wetlands and their surrounding ecosystems.
Cross-Border Cooperation
Improved cooperation and exchange of technical expertise between organisations working across national borders.
Headwater Stream Restoration
Targeted hydrological restoration of streams and wetlands in headwater areas, where interventions have outsized downstream benefit.
